At Building Services we focus mostly on measurements in buildings in operation but we also have options to perform tests in smaller rooms and sites and we have cooperation with industrial labs regarding HVAC problems.

Parameters that we measure and test connect mostly to HVAC and energy in buildings where examples of parameters are temperatures, pressure drops, humidity and energy in ventilation, heating and cooling systems, but also air movements and parameters connected to the indoor environment such as tracer gas tests etc. We work in cooperation with CHIE (Centre for Healthy Indoor Environments) where there are instruments for work environment, particles etc.

In-house expertise

The Building Services lab can provide equipment and expertise in measurements of the mentioned parameters in buildings in operation or in other situations but can also set up smaller rooms and riggs for testing. Just ask us if you have a problem, and we will think of ways to test it! We have experience of developing customized measurement systems based on sensors and computer technology. We can provide help and also construct specialized equipment in small scale.

User skill requirements

If there is a which to rent equipment, a basic knowledge of how to use the equipment is expected, but not mandatory. A brief introduction to the equipment is included. Staff members are available for assistance depending on your specific requirements.

Equipment

We have access to for example loggers for temperatures, relative humidities and carbon dioxide concentrations as well as ventilation measurement equipment and tracer gas equipment as well as IR cameras, blower door equipment and pressure sensors.

Companies and others who want to measure energy, thermal and indoor environment properties and possibly combine it with analytical help to understand and solve problems or develop solutions connected to HVAC, energy or control of buildings.

Insurance and safety

The instruments in our lab are very sensitive and expensive, therefore we expect users to have insurance. All users must sign a safety agreement before entering our premises and using the equipment. Please contact the lab for more information.
